“We are designed to be flow-ers of Life, and our natural impulse to thrive becomes a dance with the Divine … an ever unfolding adventure into the heart of creation.” … Unknown
I have always loved flowers. I love driving past fields and seeing their little, multi-coloured heads bobbing in the summer breeze – adding a spark of beauty to wherever they are growing. It is amazing to me that, in nature, despite the fact that no-one is out there, pruning, thinning, replanting or exacting order upon their existence they still do really well. I guess it must be true that all of their needs really are provided by The Great Gardener of Life .. and personally … I think that He’s doing a pretty good, darn job.
In many ways we are like the beautiful flowers in those fields; each of us unique and perfect exactly the way we are. Like the flowers in nature all of our needs are seen and known by the same Gardener who tends Mother Earth’s fields. Unlike the wild flowers we seem to have forgotten how to let in the care and nurturing of the Universe … instead, we seem to think that we are the only ones who are responsible for meeting all of our needs. I don’t know about you, but I have found that, that approach tends to put me into a very frazzled, tense, stressed and grumpy place.
My life works really well when I get out-of-the-way, take a step back and, with bated breath, wait to see what wonderful surprises and gifts the Great Gardener has planned for my personal garden … and for me. I believe, like the unknown author of today’s quote, that we are indeed designed by Life to be flow-ers – that is: to flow … and to remember our ability to move as Life moves … free as the breeze, ordered like the rise and fall of the sun and naturally like the movement of the seasons.
Despite the challenges that arise like storms in our lives I too believe that it is our natural impulse to thrive. As I learned to be open on a moment to moment basis to the urgings and promptings of the Universe I discovered, time and time again, the beauty and simplicity of the workings of Life. For me the acronym K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Susanne!) certainly applies when it comes to finding the best way to maneuver through life’s challenges.
The gerbil wheel in my mind wants to think of a million reasons why “going with the flow” (and being a flow-er) won’t work but my heart always knows better. In my dance with the Divine I often find myself on “an ever unfolding adventure into the heart of creation”and I love it! Yes siree … I do love flowing around the dance floor with my really good friend and dance partner … Life. One, two, three; one, two, three; one, two, three … dip…
Godspeed and Joyful Journeying!
