“Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions.” … James Allen
My mother would have said “Like attracts like”. The new age people say: “You create your own reality”. “The Secret” told us that: “What we focus on manifests.” And today’s quote informs us that if we “cherish our visions, our ideals and the music that stirs in our heart” then we will experience wonderful possibilities. Funny thing … I think everyone is saying the same thing … in a slightly different way … and you want to know an even funnier thing? I think that they’re ALL right.
I’ve had a lot of opportunity , these last few years, to observe the manifestation process that we have going on here on Earth. I’ve watched monetarily successful people who wouldn’t recognize an opportunity for happiness if it jumped up and bit them on the … well you know … and so they remain desperately unhappy. I’ve seen terminally ill patients with every reason in the world to be miserable put themselves out to encourage and help another patient and then roll on down the hall … content with themselves and their life.
I have come to understand that as James Allen says it is “the beauty that forms in your mind (and) the loveliness that drapes your thoughts” that determine whether or not we will be happy or miserable with our lot in life. Like everybody, I’ve had moments when the sun just didn’t seem to shine in my little corner of the world … and on those days … and in those moments … I hid myself away until I could remember that how I feel and how I approach every situation in my life is my choice. I might not always be able to control the outside circumstances … but by golly … I can, sure as shootin’, control what goes on, on the inside of me!
I heard a wonderful speaker say that if you want to know what you were thinking yesterday … look at your life today. I like that! You know why I like that? It’s because it gives me hope that things won’t stay the same way that they are right now. It reminds me that if I don’t like what’s going on or how I’m feeling then I can take charge … not of someone or something else … but of me … and my thoughts … and right after I do that … I can watch the world around me change … and begin to manifest a brighter tomorrow. So … I’m off to nurture some joy-filled visions, cherish the music in my heart that … these days … never seems to stop … and appreciate the beauty … both inner and outer … of my life and Life. If life is all about choices then I choose to have a great one!
