“Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.” … John Quincy Adams
I don’t need a lot of “stuff” to get through life anymore. There were times in my life when I thought that I needed stuff … I bought a lot of stuff … and I couldn’t imagine how I would manage without my stuff … but … it turns out that I was wrong!
Much of my stuff and I have long since parted company. Many cupboard purgings and many, long introspective moments have shown me that the only “stuff” I really need is the stuff that a) helps clean up the inside mess of past mistaken beliefs and patterns, b) assists in reclaiming my interior landscape and c) provides me with the tools to be a much better radio receiver for the helpful and supportive signals which are beamed out on a regular basis from Universal radio station L.I.F.E.
My favourite radio station reminds me that; as John Quincy Adams said: “Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish” … in other words … if I am willing to simply reach deep inside of me … find the intestinal fortitude to make a positive choice for life … and then to walk into and through said choice and its subsequent future … hand-in-hand with Life … well … then my life just works!
So … here I stand at the beginning of a new year. I feel hopeful. I feel excited. And, I feel like a new adventure is about to begin … what a great way to begin this next leg of the journey! I never thought of myself as a particularly courageous person … but I found out … over the last decade … that there is actually a fair chunk of bravery hiding out inside of me after all. I’m a Taurus (astrologically speaking) and dogged determination just goes with the territory … I believe the expression: “dog with a bone” would apply here. So … if “courage and perseverance” are the keys to successfully co-creating a sunnier future with Life then it would appear that I may have a couple of stepping stones in place! Between my newly discovered inner friend Courageous Carol, my long standing friends Optimistic Olivia and Perky Polly and my best friend Life I’m standing at the front door ready to bounce down a road filled with fabulous, fun and fulfilling adventures … make sure to wave as the bunch of us pass by!
