“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all” … Emily Dickinson
I love how things are flowing these days! Life seems to be popping marvellous contacts onto my path and dusting my days with hope inspiring synchronicities. I’m excited by the possibilities that are opening up … and I‘m ever mindful that … listening conscientiously … following said guidance …and being open to a marvellous future arriving … in whatever form it takes … is my new job.
I have become well acquainted with hope … and its eternal companion … faith. I’ve been through the darkest of days … when Exited Ellen ran away looking for greener pastures … Perky Polly lost her perk and Sunshine Sue couldn’t have raised a ray of sunshine if her life depended on it. But you know what I discovered in those lightless days? I discovered that way down inside of myself I have wings.
My wings are made of faith and hope … and with aforementioned wings I can rise out of any darkness … I can “sing the tune without words” … and my Spirit can fly and dip and soar … even when my physical body cannot. My wings help me to discover new ways of looking at things and people … and they help me to see that in the distance … sometimes far away … and sometimes really close … awesome possibilities are waiting for me to catch up to them.
In many ways I’m actually grateful to the dark times for stopping by for a visit. Without them I might never have discovered the awesome and unexpected pleasure of learning that I am capable of so much more than I ever imagined. I might never have learned to sing and never stop singing … songs of hope and faith. Without my wonderful wings I would have remained … confined … of limited vision … and even perhaps … gasp …”Normal”. (Big laughs from Polly and June on that one!) Fortunately Life has given me flying lessons …and there’s no looking back now. Life, “the girls” and I are heading out for a dive off the local, celestial cliff … singing and laughing as we go. We have faith and we have hope and with wings like that how could we go wrong!??!
