Renewing lost dreams

“Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.” …   Dale Turner

When I was 20 years old I thought that if I hadn’t met the-love-of-my-life by the time that I was 25 I would probably never meet him.  I met him 4 years ago.  When I was a little girl and dreaming of … and talking of … my incredible connection with capital “L” Life I wondered how I would ever help other people to also feel it.  I found a way last year.  It’s funny isn’t it how we oh-so-often imagine that our heart’s desires have a time-limit on them?

I am currently part way through my 5th decade on this planet.  If you had told me in my 20’s that … at this point … I would have successfully waged a war against a brutal and terrible cancer … won the fight against a bone and muscle eating bacteria and lost a child to icy road conditions I would have told you to find another volunteer for this journey.  Thankfully … I have walked this road with my great and supportive friend Life … whose faith and trust in me never ceases to amaze me and whose encouragement keeps me moving forward.

For me, not only is it uplifting to have friends and “Friend” who believe in me … but also to look at others who have traversed this world … and who at ages far greater than my own … found and/or renewed their dreams.  I am inspired by:

Wow … and I thought that I was getting straightened out late in life!  I guess it’s really a matter of perspective isn’t it!??!

When I look back on the dreams that I had as a little girl I realize that they aren’t really all that different from the ones that I am learning to create today.  I am renewing … myself and my dreams and I am deepening my connections to friends … to my heart’s desires … and to Life.  Another book is being born … and another waits in the wings.  I’m beginning to be invited to share Miss Perky and Ms Sunshine’s positive messages and life just keeps getting better and better.  I am constantly grateful for the “untapped possibilities within (me) and new beauty waiting to be born.” … Time to unpack our old dreams girls … I feel a new-beginning coming on.

  2. It’s your SIXTH decade, Miz Susanne—the first was 0-10….and speaking of spunk, watch the former Ziegfeld Follies dancer burn up the floor on her 101st birthday! (She died at 106) She was old enough to be your grandmother!

Oh … fifth … sixth … who’s counting!??! 😀 Old enough to know better and young enough not to give a flying rat’s buttocks!! Jai, Jai Richard .. 😀
