“Your current circumstances don’t determine where you will go. They merely determine where you will start.” Nido Qubein
If I were to take a long, hard look at all the things that have happened over the last three years … gather them all into a pile and give them my undivided attention …. I would probably be a quivering, sobbing puddle on the floor. If, however, I look at that same pile of challenging circumstances with an eagle eye to what I learned … where it has taken me … and the awesome possibilities for more growth, joy and fulfilling of life purpose … then I probably have to start cheering!
I’ve noticed that sometimes the hardest of times bring me to places to which I had never imagined journeying. In addition I reach heights the likes of which I had figured were simply beyond me … and I uncover parts of me that leave me standing with my proverbial jaw on the ground. It seems that I was correct all along when I said: “It’s not the journey that counts … but who and what we allow ourselves to become because of it.”
According to the medical profession I am “in remission”. That phrase has me cheering and them glumly hanging their heads and proclaiming: “We’ll just watch and wait.” Wow … I love being in remission. I love learning to walk again on my new “Bionic-Woman” hip and leg. And I believe that Nido Qubein is correct. Life here on Planet Earth isn’t simply about where I’ve been … it isn’t even about this particular Now … it’s really all about utilizing this moment as the jumping-off point for the bright and fabulous dreams-come-true future that Life is co-creating with me. If each day … each moment … each “Now” is a new place to start … then I am doing the happy-dance. I know that with the amazing support of Life … and the never-ending “perk” of Perky Polly it’s only a matter of time until all my of dreams come cascading in through the front door … and I think that, that is definitely cause for celebration
Godspeed and Joyful Journeying Everyone!
