I’ve decided to stop waiting and start living

“Find little things that you love and do your best to include them in every day.  A Joyful life will naturally follow.”  …  Susanne

Have you ever noticed how many people are playing the waiting game?  They’re waiting for the time to right … for more money to be available … or for the right person to come along … or … or … or.  What they don’t seem to realize is that none of those things are going to happen if they don’t take action to put a little zest, love and joy into their lives right now.  Without those actions … no matter how big or small they may be … tomorrow is going to be just the same as today: namely filled to the brim with waiting.

It is a sad fact that many people are spending their lives “Waiting for Godot” … in other words waiting for something or someone who may … or may not … show up.  Been-there, done-that, got the t-shirt … gave the t-shirt away to Goodwill.  The way I figure it is that time spent waiting is time that could be spent living.  Think about it … if I spend all of my days just treading water then where is my participation factor?  It became very clear to me … on my trek through the Land of Medical Crises … that the finding of my Happy-place is totally up me and that if I sit around waiting for someone else to bring it to me then I’m probably going to be missing the proverbial boat.

I feel that I’m pretty blessed … I mean apart from my awesome friends and family, and the miraculous return to health … I have a perky, inner friend who keeps me on the Joy track and insists that we always  be on the lookout for opportunities to uncover, feel and share aforementioned Joy.  I like Perky Polly.  She makes me smile.  With her help and the guidance of Capital “L” Life I am finding ways to include at least some of the things that I love in every day … and whether those things are big (like getting a book published) or little (like walking around the block and taking photos of flowers) … each one of them adds to the pile of Happy-Occurrences, smiles and general well-being.  Wow … I think I feel a Joy-filled life coming on!
