“Passion frightens people with its promise of wild freedom. Hug your courageous Heart and be passionate anyway!” … Susanne
I have seen more passion in the news in the last two weeks then in the last year. I suppose there are those who might argue with that given that our neighbors to the South just underwent a tumultuous election process … but political allegiances and their subsequent shenanigans are not what I mean by passion.
Despite what many groups may believe ~ passion is not the sole property of the boudoir. True passion rises from our Hearts and sings its siren song at such an incredible volume that we cannot ignore it. Passion drives us to tackle incredible odds … attempt to change the previously unchangeable … to dream dreams that go beyond what everyone else thinks is “normal” and pushes us so far beyond our ideas of comfort that the aforementioned limits end up being merely a line somewhere in the far distant past.
Passion doesn’t walk the same roads and paths that everyone else walks … those are just too pedestrian for it. Those of us who have Passion as a constant companion can tell you that we are never bored. Our enthusiastic friend invites us to visit places that we’ve never been … to see vistas that few ever dare to see and to throw caution to the wind, tilt at windmills like Don Quixote and dance in the rain.
It takes courage to play with Passion and it takes a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to look it square in the eye and constantly see the bright light of Truth and intensity staring back … but it’s worth it! When the big questions in life … like: “What is going on in the world?” and “What am I supposed to be doing?” … are bellowing in your ears … and no amount of loud music … partying at the bars … or day-to-day busyness will make them stop … you probably have Passion at your door. Hug your courageous heart … strap on your parachute and your flotation devices, grab your umbrella and rain boots … and get ready for the ride of your life.
