“We don’t attract what we Want; we attract what we Are.” … Wayne Dyer
I believe that Capital “L” Life always delivers to us what we are asking for … it’s just that often we are unawares of our quasi-helpful, internal messengers most of whom excel at sending out signals laced with distress and angst. Whilst it is my understanding that we do indeed have a heavy hand in creating our reality … I also understand that it is not enough to simply wish, dream and hope for a brighter tomorrow … we have to work for it.
If we really want to be attractors of a brighter tomorrow we have to be willing to don our Emotional HAZMAT suits … trudge into our internal landscape … and clean up the messy piles of fears, worries, sadness and angers that are both cluttering up the place and turning into massive walls. You see whilst our brain might be able to conjure up a great circumstance or two Wayne Dyer is correct: “We don’t attract (only) what we want … we attract what we are” … and that ladies and gentlemen comes from way down inside.
I know it must seem like life is just one big party out here … what with Miss Perky and Ms Sunshine always in residence … and there’s no doubt that we are indeed a happy bunch … however, our ability and right to party is hard-won. We spent a lot of years in those HAZMAT suits working side-by-side with the Celestial Clean-up Crew … bringing order out of chaos … and light into the darkness … and I have to tell you that there were definitely days when the girls and I were hard pressed to whip up any enthusiasm for the aforementioned whoop-dee-do times.
We persevered though … because who wants to attract more of a mess like that!??! The good news is … these days my outside world is reflecting a much nicer inside world … and that makes co-creating the-good-stuff with Life a whole lot easier and not like work at all! As I get clearer and clearer … as the internal world stops looking like a war zone and instead looks more like a nice park … my Capital “S” Self (aka my Spirit) can often be found wandering around said park-like world chatting up all and sundry. All-in-all I’d have to say that life is great … the work was worth it … and I think Miss Perky feels a cause for celebration coming on.
