“Try things you’ve never tried. Go places you’ve never gone. Smile at people you’ve never met. Live life full-out.” … Susanne
My late son was real go-getter! At the memorial service that his fellow high school buddies hosted … for him and the six other teenagers who died that year … the most common comment was that he lived … and … that like a whirlwind of energy and intent … he drew everyone around him into also experiencing life. One of the most noteworthy comments was: “Without Jason I’m not sure that I would ever off my sofa … but with him there was no chance of remaining there.”
When Jase died I made myself a vow. I said: “From this day forward I will live my life full-out.” … and I did! A few years back I had the “enjoy-every-moment-as-though-it-were-your-last” approach to life cemented in. When you’re not sure if you’re going to live to see another day, week or year you pretty much learn to really get the most out of each Now! So what started out as a way to honor how I perceived my son would lived if he’d been here … became a way of life for me .
My dad lived to be 82 years old … my son 18. You just never know what Life is going to deliver to your doorstep and you never know how much time you have left here on good, old Mother Earth. So … it seems to me that I might as well try all of the things that I always wanted to and I might as well visit as many of the places that I’ve never seen before as I can. What have I got to lose? The answer being … absolutely nothing … and I have everything to gain.
I smile a lot. I laugh whenever I can. I’m famous for singing in stores … or anywhere! You see I know a secret … and I’ll share it with you: “Life is for living. It’s meant to be filled with joy and experiences. It’s meant to be lived full-out.” So Miss Perky, Ms Sunshine and I are going to continue to avail ourselves of every opportunity that Life sends our way and we’re going to live … laugh … and love … every day.
Godspeed and Joyful Journeying Everyone
