Learning to redefine success.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill

When we volunteered for the job down here on good old Planet Earth Capital “L” Life never said that it was going to be easy. It never promised that our trip here would be a cakewalk ... and It never said that we wouldn’t cross some pretty rocky and thorny patches. What it did promise was that … no matter how scary it got ~we would definitely make it … we wouldn’t be alone no what it seemed like … and … as long as we kept moving forward with our enthusiasm intact … we would be a huge success with the crowd in the Celestial Bleachers.

Well many years have come and gone since we had that little pep talk and for most of us a whole lot of water has passed under our respective bridges.  If you’ve been one of the lucky ones you got to cross those bridges whilst admiring the cute little stream beneath as it ambled by. If you’ve traveled some of the same roads as Miss Perky & I you are probably dripping wet at this point … your galoshes are full of water … all evidence of bridges has been washed away … and you are wondering what the heck you could possibly have been thinking when you agreed to embark on this trip.

Despite everything that’s gone on I still feel pretty lucky as Miss Perky is a darn upbeat travel companion. I have to say that it does seem that Life knew what it was doing when It introduced us. My dogged determination to forge ahead … no matter what …married to her unshakeable enthusiasm makes for a pretty unstoppable combination. Capital “L” L Life tells me that in honour of our adventures here the cheering squad in the bleachers are now wearing t-shirts adorned with our perky-little faces shouting: “Go Big or Go Home”. Of course you know that I’m never going to get her to stop saying that now … don’t you!??!

Godspeed and Joyful Journeying Everyone
